The Old Mill with its coved ceilings is tastefully decorated with a blend of chic contemporary decor homely comfortable furnishings and stylish original art. We offer all modern facilities (dishwasher flat screen Smart TV with freeview microwave oven washing machine/dryer etc) DVD and CD player and WIFI throughout. Our heating is under floor and easily adjusted for all seasons. All fuel and power included. There are 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin) plus a sofa bed which sleeps 2. In total the flat/cottage can sleep 5 The open plan kitchen / diner and a separate sitting room with French windows leads out to a private patio and BBQ on the banks of the river where you can even try your hand at fishing! The stone tiled shower room with quality bathroom products will leave you feeling pampered and rejuvenated. The Old Mill is easily accessible for train and air and being close to the Edinburgh Ring Road it's the perfect base to explore all the attractions that Scotland's capital and the surrounding countryside has to offer! Not to mention the Highlands to the North over the Forth Road Bridge to Fife and Perthshire or south to the rural Borders.For the Commonwealth Games the Ryder Cup and all the action in the city centre at the Edinburgh Festival - we are perfectly located close to the ring road M8 motorway to Glasgow and close to Edinburgh city centreThe charming village of Juniper Green is a stone's throw away (300m along a wooded path) where there are pubs restaurants local shops and an excellent deli. Walking further along this well surfaced picturesque path will take you right into the heart of Edinburgh where you can explore this magnificent capital. We are on the edge of the Pentland hills and so there are wonderful walks for all levels - stretching out from the garden gate. Nearby there are a number of excellent golf courses and fishing opportunities literally on the doorstep!

About me

The Old Mill was originally a working mill from 1780 onwards powered by a mill lade from the weir to the right of the BBQ. It was also home to a variety of livestock – horses cows etc who were brought inside during the winter months. It is located right next door to East Mill House which is the original Mill owners house and dates back to 1817. In fact we are only the 7th owner of this property since that date and have the history to prove it!
